If you are looking to camp in cold weathers, this tent is NOT a 4-season tent so you might opt to explore 4-season tents that can provide you comfort and insulation in cold and freezing temperatures.

The promise of clean, fresh air, the uninhibited singing, and chirping of birds and insects, free time to bond with friends and folks and the undeniable peace of being at one with nature; these and other factors make camping one of the most serene ways to spend your free time. It is not only a great time for bonding, but it is also a good opportunity to teach children important life skill lessons like creating fire and collecting firewood, fishing and even hunting for those who enjoy the sport! The choice of a camping shelter is, however, very determinant on the kind of camping experience you have. The Coleman 8-person red canyon tent is a perfect choice.

When you think of tents, you should take into consideration those that have a good standing room and the shape and material which suits your needs. And also that a big flat space for pitching it on The Coleman 8-person red canyon is cheap, with the measurement of 17-foot by 10-foot and can comfortably accommodate 8 people. The center height is 72 inches which is a comfortable room for most people to stand in. It is a dome-shaped tent which is better at handling the wind and has a room divider that allows creating up to a total of three rooms. This increases room for privacy especially when it’s a camping trip with both adult and children. Those with pets can create extra room for their storage.

It is very easy to set up the Coleman 8-person red canyon. It has color-coded and shock-corded poles which make it very easy to pitch, even single-handedly. There are interior pockets in the tent that add to storage space and a gear net attached to the ceiling which serves as more storage space for keys, wallets, phones among other things. There are also adjustable ventilation systems and cool air gear for constant fresh air and to control temperature. It weighs 21.5 pounds and is fairly light to carry.

Some of the downsides of the Coleman 8-person red canyon include its fiberglass poles which are less reliable and more likely to break in cold and wet weather than the aluminum tent poles. The shelter is made with strong and waterproof material to insulate it from leakage, but it is only advisable to be used during the summer. It is important to note that the shelter are not completely waterproof. The rainfly does not cover all seams which increase the chances of a leakage in case of heavy rains. It also lacks multiple entrances and exits which make movement into a shelter easier. It only has one door for both entry and exit.

The saying is true that you only get what you pay for. You must give a little to get a little more in return unless you are willing to pay for it all. This shelter has its disadvantages, but if you check the weather forecast ahead of time, there is a great chance that you can enjoy your camping trip to the maximum. The shaded face at the door facilitates easy storing of the goods at the tent, and you are sure that goods that do not require sunshine are protected by the shade. It is also easy to place armchair that point to accommodate shade. If it is made to hold each member of you then why should you not use it? For the same size, you always find large tent will help you do your activities outside the home without worrying where you will have to spend your night. We can’t say that the shelter is much secure from attacks from animals or even getting blown away by the wind but at such cases, your place of installations will matter a lot. The Coleman Red Canyon Reviews

The Coleman Red Canyon reviews have generally received very positive ratings from people who have purchased and used it. The online reviews are very good. Many people commented on how spacious it is, although a couple of comments were noted saying that perhaps to be really comfortable, that this was more geared for a maximum of 6 adults. It is possible that 8 adults may be a bit cramped as the manufacturers bases their  numbers on a snug fit. Perhaps they should rate these as 6 adults and 2 children, which would be more accurate.

There were some comments about the seams not being 100% watertight but the Coleman manual does say “Seam sealer has not been provided with your tent. For additional protection we recommend seam sealing your tent prior to camping”.  We think that is good advice to follow with any tent. The biggest complaint if you can call it a complaint  from a few people is that this is really more of a summer tent, and not warm enough for the colder seasons. It is rated as a 3 season tent.  The tent is very well ventilated and perhaps that is the reason some people found themselves getting cold at night. In our opinion, you should be prepared for all kinds of temperature changes when going camping. Perhaps a warmer sleeping bag would have done the trick for those campers.

FAQs - bananareview.com

Is the brand of camping tent important?

Yes and no. The tried and tested brands have developed design technology to keep you safe, dry over the years incorporating customer feedback. Unless you do know about a new brand or it has been reviewed positively by our reviewer’s, it is always safe to chose a well known brand when it comes to buy a camping tent.

What size tent should I buy?

It really depends on your requirements but always know that the listed capacity for sleepers is only enough for sleeping bags and more often than not, does not give you much room to move about. If you need a spacious tent with some privacy, go for the tent with rooms or get a slightly bigger tent than you need.

I am new to camping and have never setup a tent. Will I be able to setup the tent easily?

Most tents in the market are fairly easy to up. The time it takes to up the tent is usually mentioned on tent reviews. Generally, if it says it can be up in 5 minutes, realistically it may take you 20 minutes to up for the first time. Remember that it is always recommended that at least 2 people set up the tent. This will make the process quicker, easier and also ensure that you don’t rip off the tent if you are pulling from one side alone. Don’t forget to check out details on our blog HOW TO SETUP UP CAMPING TENT

Will I be able to carry the tent in a backpack?

Almost all of the tents come with a carry-bag. Some of the light weight tents are easier to carry for backpacking. Make sure you read the weight of the tent so you are well aware of it when you plan your holiday.

Which tools do I need to take with him to set-up the tent?

Most of the tents reviewed by us don’t require highly sophisticated tools and assemble pretty quickly. We always recommend keeping an ordinary hammer with you so you can make sure stakes are well hammered in the ground. Be careful with the hammer since some of the stakes are made of fiber glass and may break if too much pressure is applied.

What is 3-season or 4-season tent? Which one should I buy?

Most of the camps are season rated. 4-season tents can be used in any weather condition. These are generally made of strong fabric which keeps you warm in colder weathers as well. 3-season tents can be used in all weathers except winters since they do not protect against cold weather and snow. If you don’t plan to camp in cold weathers, we recommend not to go for 4-season camp and get a well ventilated one 3-seaons tent. Don’t forget to check out our blog TYPES OF CAMPING TENTS for more details.
