Eureka Mansard 8 Tent Review

The Eureka Mansard 8 Tent is Eurekas luxurious as tents go, large base camp tent, large enough to accommodate a pretty big family. The Eureka Mansard 8 tent is a freestanding style box type tent which is rated for 3 seasons. Seven or eight family members can easily and comfortably find room in the roughly 89 sq ft sized Eureka Mansard 8 tent, and the Mansard can be divided into two separate rooms with the removable dividing curtain that contains handy pockets.

Eureka has always strived to make a great product at a reasonable price and the Eureka Mansard fits into the Eureka family as exactly that. It’s proprietary hubs and box frame construction make the Eureka Mansard 8 tent a nearly 6-foot tall tent with close to 90-degree walls. Access to the Eureka Mansard is through the 2 large D style doors.

The Eureka Mansard 8 tent has 2 smaller side stash vestibules that can store plenty, about 7 square feet worth each of your gear which can be accessed through two v-shaped zippered doors. There are also 2 vestibules in the front and rear of the Eureka Mansard that can be configured in a number of different manners, including being set up as awnings.

The Eureka Mansard 8 tent is built tough. It’s pole hubs are massive, 11, 13 and 16mm DAC aluminum anchoring the tent’s structure yet using the Eurekas clip and pole design makes setting up this monster a breeze. All the fabric for the walls, fly are heavily coated and will keep you dry in the worst weather conditions. All the main floor and fly seams on the Eureka Mansard 8 are factory sealed. The Heavy duty 150D polyester oxford bathtub style floor provides durable waterproofness, although with these large family style tents we do recommend the purchase of a footprint to further protect the bottom of the tent.

Overall Impressions of the Eureka Mansard 8 Tent, Model No# 2629210

We see a lot of tents and try to give you an honest evaluation of each one. We liked the Eureka Mansard 8 tent for the purposes of having a large family style “base camp” variety of tent. This is not a hiking or backpacking tent as it’s too big and too heavy. The Eureka Mansard 8 tent is geared for families that want a quality heavy duty tent which will hold a lot of people and keep you warm and dry in nasty weather. We happen to like the fact that the Eureka Mansard 8 tent has enormous cathedral-like headroom where even most tall people will not feel cramped.

The Eureka Mansard 8 Tent gives you lots of storage and the opportunity to set up the vestibule areas as awnings as well. If you need a 4 season family tent, then we would suggest looking at the Cabela Family Outfitter Convertible Tent, which is somewhat similar in some ways to the Eureka Mansard 8 tent, although larger than the Eureka Mansard 8 Tent but better for colder conditions. Bottom line, we couldn’t really find any serious faults with the Eureka Mansard 8 Tent, nor could we find any bad critiques from any owners of the Eureka Mansard 8 tent.
