The Eureka Timberline 4 Adventure tent is a classic design A frame tent made by a company that has been around for over one hundred years. They started out making canvas wagon cover, horse blankets, tents and other canvas type products way back in the late 1890′s. That is what I would call some experience in these type of products.
These are one of the worlds most popular tents with sales of over one million of these A frame type of tents having been sold in the first decade of it’s introduction. If you were in the boy scouts, or had friends in the boy scouts over years past, these were the type of tents that I always remember having.
So what is it about these tents that have made them so popular over the years and why should you be considering one of these if you are in the market for a 4 person tent?

Well first of all this is a freestanding style of tent. It is very easy to set up as there is no staking required. The guylines and fly attachments give this tent additional stability under any conditions.
This is a three season tent, the most popular choice amongst tents today. Three season tents are the perfect choice for all times of year with the exception of extreme cold period of winter. Many people camp out in the wintertime with 3 season tents as well as long as the temperature doesn’t dip too low. If you are planning a camping trip to the Arctic, you will need something else other than a 3 season tent.
This is a fairly roomy tent that will accommodate and sleep four people comfortably. It is well constructed and has good ventilation with a large front door and two windows. The windows can remain open in the rain to keep condensation down as the fly will keep out the rain from getting inside the tent.
The design of the polyester bathtub floor keeps the seams off the floor so that there should be no problems of leakage thru the floor. Twin track zippers on the doors and windows, mesh pockets to stow your gear, a clothes line and flashlight loop make this a very practical and well built tent that will withstand the elements and make your camping life easier.

The Independent Eureka Timberline 4 Adventure Reviews
Overall the independent reviews from users of the Eureka Timberline 4 Adventure tent have been good. A few people have commented that they don’t think that these tents were as well made as when they were in the scouts years back. A couple of users did say that there was some water penetration through the doors or windows even with the fly. I hear that with every tent, no matter who the manufacturer is or how much the tent costs. I believe that it’s just the nature of the beast, and some tents will leak at some time somewhere. My suggestion is to be prepared for water leaks with any tent, or stay at the Hilton if you want to be 100% assured of no moisture.
This Eureka tent is classified as a backpackers tent, although I don’t think that serious backpackers would put it in that league. It is a bit too heavy in comparison to the state of the art backpackers tents on the market today. What it is though, is a time tested high quality tent that is fairly light and up and able to handle the job of a weekend warriors camping outing. It is a high quality and reasonably priced tent that should last you a long time.
