I find that this bag is a multi-purpose pack.
Meaning it will make a great day pack (for hiking), or a school/work bag, especially if you want something that will last you more than a year.
Because you know it is high quality and going to last a long time, this makes a PERFECT gift.
However this bag will be no good if you want a pack for a 3+ night bush excursion out in the wilderness.

- The weight of this pack is under 3 pounds, making it great to use for all activities
- It is very durable and made of quality material, helping it last you many years
- This back is very comfortable, fitting people of all shapes and sizes
- It comes with a boatload of color options, not just plain colors either. They are all multi-colored and options and able to satisfy anyone’s color preferences
- The external mesh compartment works wonders for things that you would usually roll up and throw in your pack (raincoats, fleece, jackets, etc )
- The zippers are usually a problem with backpacks, these ones work fine
Cons
- It’s not exactly the biggest backpack in the world
- There’s a small number of individuals claiming that their bag is losing the stitching very fast (I would guess that they got a bad bag, in that case they should return it for a replacement)
Absolutely, for the simple fact that it’s a lot more durable than many other packs, especially for something of this price.
A backpack for this price and of this quality is not easy to find.
It isn’t at all big, however for the durability you get, I wouldn’t mind one of these backpacks for myself.
The pros HEAVILY outweigh the cons, for those reasons and the many more I have outlined, this backpack is highly recommended!

Final Opinion
The north face borealis backpack is not too big and it’s not too small either. It is just in between, which is why I think a lot of people have fallen in love with this pack.
However, many people are complaining about how much little space this pack has, where I tend to find that the negative feedback comes from. This is not the bags fault, this is them purchasing the bag even though they know it’s not that big.
But that is also what the outside compartments are for too, if you really want to get the most out of this pack, the extra compartments are there to be used and not just looked at.
